After a friend avoided back surgery by doing intensive physical therapy, after trying many avenues to fix my unstable and painful pelvis, I decided to give therapy a try, but with a twist: A full-body workout with a qualified trainer. Jesse was the perfect match: He is in my age range, knows how to recover from health-related challenges, and has impressive qualifications and experience. The second twist and another critical factor: He is a former ballet dancer and personal ballet trainer. Who could be better for someone who was not flexible? I don’t believe in making my body suffer, so I had one condition: No sore muscles. Jesse showed a lot of patience and creativity, and he helped my body do movements I had lost the ability to do — and painlessly. After two months, my chiropractor noticed that I had started to build muscle — and I don’t see her much anymore. I love Jesse’s low-impact approach, soft body-weight, gravity, and barefoot techniques. The latter significantly increased my balance. When the pandemic hit, we resumed our training online. It was a blessing: Now, we are back to in-person training at the fantastic Diakadi Body. I am in super shape—and incidentally leaner.
